Search World Book

World Book provides several different subscriptions to search for topics related to your search term.  The associated databases are based on what your library has subscribed through World Book.  You choose between the subscriptions offered to display the related results.

If your library has a subscription, after performing a search a World Book link displays on the left side, under the Library Catalog count.  Refer to the example shown below.

Click the World Book link.  As shown in the example above, a search for frogs shows 96 results in the World Book database.  If you have not logged into your account, you will be asked for your library credentials, unless your library has set up your library's location to bypass your login.

A World Book drop-down list displays on the left with search results based on the default setting.  In the example above the default subscription is Discover.  The list contains all of the databases your library subscribes to through World Book.  Use the list to assist in your search, as each database narrows your search results.  The example below shows 11 results for the Living Green subscription.

If a selected database has no results, a message displays, No search results found for [search term].  Select a different database.

Clicking a link in your search results displays the associated page.  In the example below the link in the first result, Frog with deformed back leg (Pollution), is shown.

If you decide to search with a different search term, your last subscription selection is retained and you also remain in the World Book database.  Click Library Catalog to return to the main search results, or click the header above the search box to clear your search results and start over.  Your last selected World Book subscription remains selected until you log off.
